We were for the war before we were against the war before we were for the war

House Resolution 571

For: 3 Against: 403 Present: 6

All Ayes and Present votes were Democrat, 16 Rs and 6 Ds did not vote.

It's gonna be awful hard for some of the Dems to face their anti-war constituents. Snicker. Snort.

Of course, the outcome was guaranteed:

Pelosi sent word to rank-and-file Democrats to vote - with the Republicans - against immediate withdrawal of American troops.

I'll try to give a roundup in the morning.

By the way, I spent most of my time over at Euphoric Reality where the vote was being live blogged. It was great fun!

I support Bush's Iraq policy and his overall anti-terrorist strategy. However, hypocrisy in the halls of congress is not reserved for Democrats. Remember, Nixon won the presidency in 1968 by promising to end the conflict in Vietnam, then escalated American involvement once elected.

Thanks for the comment, Kevin.

I agree that politicians of all stripes can be hypocritical. This particular bunch, though, is exceptional.

So the Democrats threw a hissy fit and said that the Republicanized resolution wasn't the same as theres. I don't agree: http://conservativesalwaysright.myblogsite.com/blog/_archives/2005/11/19/1414152.html

BTW-- to the webmaster, pretty soon, I'm moving webhosts (mine is shutting down) and when it does, I will give you the new address so you can change your link to my current site.

CAAR,

I noticed you haven't been posting. You been doing OK?

I've been doing ok, but after my host--quite abruptly-- announced that they were shutting down the service by November 30th, I've been focusing more on searching for new hosts and checking out some new designs for the new blog. One I have the new one up and running, I should start posting regularly again.

OK, got my new site up. If you could change your link that'd be great: http://neoconcentral.blogdrive.com/

Thanks. I'll update it an a short.
